80's East Coast Club Rockers Return With New Album!

GASTEM... a Maryland-born 80's Rock band oozing with everything just left of The Sunset Strip and adrenalized with an unapologetic Van Halen tilt, is set to release a collection of new material in imminent fashion. GASTEM is home to KIX bassist Mark Schenker, where he played rhythm guitar as a member prior to his 20-plus year tenure with the Platinum-Charting Baltimore Rockers.  In the world of 80's East Coast Hard Rock & Club Scene nostalgia, stories like this have made a huge digital and social media popularity explosion of interest; with some acts reuniting for live performances after lengthy absences. It's a big deal to loyal fans indulging in the way back machine.

Fast-forward to present day 2024, 35-years since last recording or playing together; and the three remaining members of GASTEM, guitarist/lead vocalist Rob Galpin, drummer Craig Stegall, and bassist Mark Schenker (original GASTEM bassist Mark Emon unexpectedly passed away in late-November 2023 prior to the planned studio sessions, of which he was to be a part) banged out 22 tracks and a Modern Rock cover of Kool & The Gang's 1980 hit "Get Down On It" (https://youtu.be/krzEeqxxHTM?si=CYs2CKCOLBHFN_0d).

Drummer Craig Stegall chuckles when asked why the band decided to take such a chance releasing new material to a fan base that hasn't seen or heard from them in over 35-years:

"We took a leap off the edge to do this; all three of us, with Emon's spirit in-tow.  Back when we started in the 80's, we refused to follow what the scene was dictating, musically. Sure, we looked the part, but that's where we drew the line. We always steered towards the oddly-different musical rabbit holes. And reforming and releasing a new album flies right in the face of what bands our age are doing now.  Comparison is the thief of joy, and honestly, with everyone retiring, we thought it was time a buncha old dudes, like us, said, 'We're Back! Anyone up for an audibly gorgeous dumpster fire'"?

Yes, yes we are, sir!  GASTEM III drops at midnight on October 31st, and features 14 barreling new tracks that will be available on all digital formats through Avalon Street Records and limited-edition compact disc with large booklet containing extensive liner notes, rare photos, and a tribute to their bandmate Mark Emon.
